At the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, we believe in helping our patients achieve the smile of their dreams. We recognize how important your smile is and the confidence that comes with it.
Below is an example of a letter we received from an individual who had a negative experience with a different dental office and our recommendation to them.
Dear Dr. King,
In April I received 8 Lumineers. I wanted a super white smile, and I insisted on a shade that the cosmetic dentist kept telling me was too white. I understood his concern, but I still wanted that shade of white, so he agreed to do it. It’s my smile so why wouldn’t he be willing to give me what I wanted even if he didn’t agree? After I wore the temporary veneers, I really liked them. When I got the permanent veneers, the dentist told me had ordered them with stain so the white would look more natural. I was furious, and I hated the look. I don’t know why I let him bond them on. I went back in May, and he drilled off the top layer of the veneers. Now they look horrible – worse than before. They don’t look like Lumineers or natural teeth. I am very hesitant about smiling now. I hate the thought of having this done all over again. My real concern is that I don’t trust this dentist, and I’m going to have to try to find a new one. What has to be done to the veneers to get them back to what I originally wanted? Thank you. Robyn
Robyn – We recommend that you receive a second opinion from a cosmetic dentist who is skilled with porcelain restorations. If you want to get an attractive, natural looking smile, you need a cosmetic dentist who is highly trained, experienced, and accredited in the art of cosmetic dentistry. Cosmetic dentists are growing in number, but not all are equally qualified to craft and enhance beautiful smiles. Fewer than 2% of dentists have the artistic inclination required to produce a truly beautiful smile.
Alternatives to Lumineers
If you choose a dentist who advertises for Lumineers, it reduces your chances of receiving a beautiful smile makeover that really looks natural. Among advanced cosmetic dentists, the Lumineers brand is not preferred for giving patients the best results. Dr. Debra Gray King has created an ultra-thin veneer called “pearls.” These are a great alternative to Lumineers, and we have seen incredible results as shown below.
Select an accredited cosmetic dentist to examine your veneers and let you know your options. The dentist will likely prefer to give you better results with another brand. But you can trust the artistic talent of an accredited dentist, and it will help you smile with confidence again. You can learn more about choosing the right cosmetic dentist in our e-book!
We welcome you to visit our office for a cosmetic consultation and experience the difference for yourself!
