Bright Smiles Help Red Cross
Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry Provides Free Whitening for Contributors
(November 6, 2001 - Atlanta, GA) - Helping to brighten the lives of those in need is brightening smiles around the Atlanta metro area. During the month of November, the Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry (ACCD) is providing a free teeth whitening procedure to individuals who make a charitable donation of $250 or more to the Red Cross.
"We often hear from our patients that their new whiter, brighter smiles have changed their lives, rejuvenating their spirits and giving them greater confidence," said Dr. Debra Gray King, ACCD president. "We felt that in this time of need and sadness that this offer would be a natural way for us to give back to the community as well as thank those who have supported the Red Cross."
This offer is just one of many charity events sponsored by the ACCD in their continuing efforts focused on leading edge cosmetic dental care and active community involvement. Running concurrently with the Red Cross charity offer is their annual winter coat drive. Last year alone, the practice donated over 300 coats to the Atlanta Union Mission homeless shelter. Also over the past two years, the ACCD has contributed over $20,000 to the "Smiles for Life Foundation" sponsored by the Crown Council and internationally acclaimed recording artist Garth Brooks to give life-saving help to thousands of under privileged children across the nation.
The Red Cross charity event requires an initial visit to the office to create custom-fitted whitening trays that are worn at home. In only one to three weeks, the average patient sees their teeth get eight shades whiter. As with all the charity events held by the ACCD, 100% of the contributions will go directly to the Red Cross. "It's exciting to give both those in need and those that help out something to smile about!" said Dr. King.
